The Challenge

Doctor Di Pace is a gynaecologist, obstetrician and sexologist.She contacted Obsite because she wanted a website to showcase her business, and put herself on the map as a leading expert in her field. Of course, the website had to contain all the information related to her business, opening hours and offices. In addition, she also wanted her site to be a hub of information and discussion.

Design

A FEMININE PALETTE
The website has a very feminine colour palette: white, pink and tones of lavender. Pink is often associated with calmness, love, kindness, and femininity. Lavender is a feminine, graceful, elegant colour - perfect to create some contrast with the brightness of the pinks.White is often associated with purity, cleanliness, freshness, and simplicity.We aimed to create a calming, clean and kind atmosphere throughout the design by using this palette.

AN INVITING TYPOGRAPHY‍
We decided to pick two different fonts, one serif and one sans. We wanted to create contrast and movement on this page to convey professionalism but, at the same time, seem approachable and friendly.

Bree Serif:
We decided to use this font sparsely on the page, mainly for the titles of the sections. It conveys trust, professionalism - but, at the same time, looks friendly and charming.

Poppins:
We decided to create most of the texts on the page with this font. Poppins is a clean and modern font. Its circular shapes convey the message of being approachable and friendly.

The Tech

Wordpress
For this project we used Wordpress for affordability, flexibility and speed. WordPress is a free and open-source content management system written in PHP and paired with a MySQL or MariaDB database. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, referred to within WordPress as Themes.
Elementor
Wordpress is Versatile, but it can be even more versatile with a page builder such as Elementor. Together with Elementor and custom design we can make high-quality affordable and custom websites.
nginx
Wordpress natively supports Apache, but to really bring out the maximum performance on our wordpress servers, we proxy and cache the high-demand processes through our Nginx web server.

The Results

Obsite decided to create for Dr Di Pace a modern, responsive and unique website with a blog. Her website contains all the information related to her practice: opening hours, location of her offices and a booking system.We also decided to emphasize her as a medical professional. We dedicated a large portion of her website to who she is, her education, her passion and motivation for choosing this career and her services.We also decided to create a blog for Dr Di Pace, to share her knowledge and expertise on medical conditions, which are still taboo for many women.
